About Us
In Austin, Indiana at 198 Frontage Rd. Burris Electric and Plumbing Supply opened its first store.
There were 4 people at that time. Earl and Betty Burris, Terry Keith and Steve Mitchell.
Austin, being a small community, did not have a very large customer potential
so we covered a fifty mile radius in search of new customer.
The business grew and in time we had to hire more employees.
In November 1995 another store was opened in Madison, Indiana 2976 Shun Drive. That store included Vevey, Indiana and Carrollton Kentucky. In November 1999 we opened a store at 416 East Second St. Seymour,In. That store is managed by Terry Keith and has 3 employees. This store covers territory from Greensburg, Indiana ,In. to Bedford,In. and all points in between.
Earl Burris died in 2002 and his wife, Betty, is now the manager at the Austin Store.
There are now 6 employees at that location.
The Austin store is where the accounts receivable and payable are processed.
Statements are sent out each month.
All three stores welcome walk ins and contractors. Large or small. We welcome the opportunity to serve all factories with their electrical and plumbing needs. Burris Electric and Plumbing Is Inc. is a woman owned business.
